Kay Ford – glasswork

Kay Ford:

Kay Ford lives in Eastbourne and graduated with a first-class BA Honours Designer-Maker degree in July 2021 from The University of Brighton and completed her master’s degree studying Craft working with metals and glass.

She creates functional and contextual pieces and enjoys using the process of Pate de Verre, a French term meaning paste of glass. With each piece being unique and coming from a single use mould. Kay likes the fluidity of glass and the strength and fragility it combines.

Kay also produces work in pewter, and currently has a range of pewter shells. Pewter is a very forgiving, soft that is mainly cast into moulds.
