Hailsham Foodbank – marking the first 10 years

This year, Hailsham Festival is delighted to be supporting Hailsham Foodbank who’s work will be featured at the Information Centre inside Furniture Now on the High St. 

 

Hailsham foodbank has been serving the people of Hailsham and the surrounding area for 10 years.  Over 23,000 3 day emergency food parcels have been distributed in that time.  This has only been possible with the overwhelming support of local individuals, community groups and businesses with their time, money and food donations.  Volunteers give around 50 hours every week to keep the operation running.

 

The foodbank works alongside many different agencies who help people with their financial issues and any other support they need.  As the foodbank has grown to keep up with demand, they have now been able to fund a Citizens Advice Adviser and Community Money Advice Debt Adviser to work from the foodbank making it as easy as possible for people to get the support they need.
