Join us as we break down the elements to a successful bass line – the theory behind the biggest, baddest riffs and how to create your own! Focusing on the rhythmic and harmonic tools that will step up your playing and expand your musical vocabulary, we will start with the humble pentatonic and progress through various modes as well as looking at utilising irregular time signatures effectively. Expect to cover a wide variety of genres!
The workshop will be led by Chris Simmonds
After graduating a degree course from BIMM, Chris spent ten years working as a freelance musician touring and recording with a number of high profile artists. Having played worldwide music festivals spanning from Japan to Europe, headline shows and releasing a number of charting albums and remixes, he then stepped into teaching and is currently curriculum leader of guitar for us here East Sussex Music/Brighton and Hove music and Arts.
