Join us for this free concert at Hailsham Parish Church where we will welcome the town’s mayor.

The concert will include performances by Hailsham Voices Community Pop Choir conducted by Abbie Marsden, young guest soprano, Rosie Ann Page and trumpter, Andrew Baxter.

Hailsham Voices

Hailsham Voices, directed by Abbie Marsden, is a fun and friendly community pop choir for people of all ages and abilities. Abbie set up the choir in 2018 with the aim of inspiring people to sing in a choir, regardless of ability or music reading skills, and this local pop choir has thrived from the outset thanks to their collective joy and passion for singing. If you are interested in joining Hailsham Voices you can either follow them on Facebook or go to www.hailshamvoices.org

Guest Soloist – Rosie Ann Page

We are delighted the young mezzo-sporano, Rosie Ann Page as our guest soloist.

Rosie says:

I found my love for performing from a young age; singing into a pink karaoke microphone with my mum and sister, taking part in amateur theatre, performing in school concerts. Since then, I never really stopped! I graduated from the Institute of Contemporary Theatre with a BA Hons in Performing Arts in 2021. For around 5 years I have been an events singer across the UK. Upon graduating university, I strived to provide a variety of high quality entertainment for any occasion or venue, be it a Wedding or a Residential Home. I provide entertainment from Musical Theatre, to ABBA Parties, to Disney Princess Parties and more. Alongside performing, auditions and rehearsals, I teach private singing lessons, various group classes and am currently undertaking my Yoga Teaching Diploma.

Guest Soloist – Andrew Baxter

Despite growing up in Doncaster, South Yorkshire, Andrew never got into the Brass Band scene which dominates the musical landscape of Yorkshire.Instead he was taught by the Classical musician Carey Williams, who gave him countless opportunities to perform in and around the town. Andrew played Principal Trumpet with both the Doncaster Youth Orchestra and the Sheffield Youth Orchestra.

Whilst at the Royal Northern College of Music Andrew had many great professional opportunities including playing with BBC Philharmonic, the Halle Orchestra, The Kings Consort, the BBC Big Band and Jools Holland to name but a few.

Highlights of his career since, have been playing on the number one album ‘Ballads’ by Jazz Giant Lianne Caroll and also the number one single ‘Abracadabra’ by Joe Stillgoe. He has been seen many times on TV, played at the NTA Awards with the late Sir Bruce Forsyth, and recorded for several film soundtracks including 007 – No Time To Die.
