Recent years have witnessed a welcome revolution in the popularity of choirs and singing and it has been estimated that 2.8 million Britons are now members of a choir. Hailsham Festival is proud to support the resurgence of accessible singing groups and to welcome three local choirs to this concert.
Hailsham Voices (director, Abbie Marsden) is a fun, relaxed and friendly community pop choir for people of all ages and abilities. You don’t have to be able to read music to take part and there are no auditions – a passion for singing is the only thing you need! New members are always welcome.
The South Downs Singers (director, James Aburn), currently numbering sixty singers, is open to any member of the community who has a love of music and a desire to sing. At the moment no auditions are held and members are
not required to be able to read music. A wide variety of music is sung in a very sociable setting. Solo and group items can be provided for the benefit of local charity organisation events.
Bourne to Sing (director, Kerry Evenden) are 2 choirs based in Eastbourne and Warbleton. They sing a variety of Pop, gospel, Soul and Rock accompanied by their own band: Pete, Tony and Stewart.
