Creative Writing has always played a big part in Hailsham Festival and once again we are running competitions for writers of short stories and poetry. Join us in celebrating a legacy of creative expression from the past two decades by entering our 2026 Creative Writing Competition sponsored by BourneFree Magazine.
A free informal hour or so of shared poetry, both profound and amusing. After a break, an "open mic" chance to share or listen. Light refreshments.
Following the highly successful Book and Author Fair at the 2025 festival we are repeating the event for 2026. A range of authors will display and talk about their work. During the course of the day there will be book signings and vistors are encouraged to talk to authors about their work.
